George Green organized the first Halloween parade in Anoka, Minnesota over eighty years ago to keep his city civilized during the Halloween holiday. This grand event encompassed a parade that later established Anoka as the "Halloween Capital of the World". The town of Anoka goes crazy during the Halloween celebration and includes events for people of all ages.

When are the Parades hosted?

The Halloween festival in Anoka, Minnesota hosts three fabulous parades. These three parades include an evening parade on Saturday, October 24th at 7:00pm, a parade for children on Friday, October 30th at 1:15pm, and a Grand Day Parade on Saturday, October 31st at 1:00pm. All three of these parades are located on Main Street in Anoka. If you are someone who enjoys having a good time on Halloween, these longest running Halloween parades are sure to please any crowd.

When is the Ghosts of Anoka Walking Tour?

The highly anticipated ghost tour in Anoka is hosted during the fall and summer seasons at 7:30pm. This event begins at the Anoka County History Center and Library and combines local history with dramatic Halloween styled anecdotes. Due to the popularity of the ghost tour, reservations should be considered. The prices are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for members, and $5.00 for kids. When is the Haunted House conducted?

The Knights of Columbus put on a fun-inducing Halloween haunted house on the following dates and times: October 15-16, 22 & 25 at 7:00-9:00pm- October 17 & 23-24 at 7:00-10:00pm- October 29 at 6:00-9:00pm- October 30 & 31 at 6:00-10:00pm. This event appeals to kids and adults alike and is hosted at the Anoka County Fairgrounds. The cost for this event is: $8.00 for adults and $7.00 for children (10 and under). When is the block party?

The block party is one of the most highly anticipated events of the Anoka Halloween festival and runs from 6:00pm until midnight on Saturday, October 31st. Tied into this grand event is the costume contest. Each of these events has live music with professional bands and requires a $10.00 entry fee.
