Aliens Costume - The Most Authentic Alien Adult Masks Are Hand Painted

HalLoWeeN MasKs

The Aliens costume is not something you can normally buy in any Halloween store. Masks like these are hand painted with superior materials. They are far superior to most of the costumes you will see on the store shelves for Halloween. The "Alien" movie character is still a hot item for Halloween. Even though the movie was made in the 1970's, it still captivates the older and newer generation.

An Aliens mask starts off with a large piece of latex, then shaped to form the head. Later the features are carved into the face. Paint is then added to the latex to add to the realism. Costumes like these can only be found online. Stores that work year around will carry this type of high quality costume.

There are many styles of the Alien movie character. The older style that was created back in 1970's is really hard to find now. Most owners choose to collect them and not wear them. They have risen in value and are now considered to be "collector items". The costumes you can find now are from the more recent Alien's vs. Predator series. They are still made really well, yet are more gear to the most recent movies.

Along with the Alien mask, you cannot forget all the great accessories. There are things like gloves that cover the hands. The gloves are made in the form of an Alien's skin and are very realistic. You can be sure to scare a few Halloween participants.

Next to the Predator, the "Alien movie" is still one of the most exciting and memorable movie of its time. You can be sure to find yourself the center of attention and the talk of any party. Whether you are at a street event, celebration or just walking down the street wearing your terrifying costume, you will not be forgotten.

Dress Up As the Burger King From the Commercials!

HalLoWeeN MasKs

Everyone knows the face. The Burger King mask and costume has become easily recognizable thanks to the television commercials promoting the popular fast food restaurant. Now you can join in the fun as well and dress up as the well-known King!

The first image of the King was featured on the sign of the first store in Miami, Florida in 1955. It was in the late 1960s and early 1970s in which an animated Burger King was used in advertisements to attract children to the chain restaurant. Today it is a King played by an actual actor in which the King costume and mask were inspired from.

It was in 2005 when they first started selling the mask for Halloween costumes.

Two adult Burger King costumes are now available for purchase. The deluxe adult costume features a shiny red and orange robe with a white collar, a mask and a gold medallion. The second, called the standard adult costume, comes with a brown and orange patterned robe with a white collar. This costume also includes a golden Burger King medallion and a realistic looking mask. Both costumes come in one standard size.

Want to add to the look? White tights and black shoes could add to the costume, causing the wearer to resemble the commercial King even more!

Like the costumes, the King mask is available in two different adult versions as well. The deluxe mask and the standard 3/4 mask are both made of vinyl, and have the signature King look. The deluxe mask covers your entire head, whereas the standard mask covers 3/4 of your head. Each Burger King mask comes in one standard size as well. Each will transform you into a crown wearing, penny saving King!

The King mask is best known for the smile spread across the mask's face. The Burger King mask also features brown curly hair, a beard and mustache and a Burger King crown on top of its head.

Since its debut, the King has been featured in more than just commercials. The King, bearing the now well-known mask, has been seen on many spoofs on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and various movie promotions including The Simpsons Movie. A video game featuring the King costume wearing mascot, titled Sneak King, was also created in February 2006. Most recently, the King is said to be featured in his very own upcoming movie!

Whether you are a fan of the King, the fast food restaurant itself or want to be ready for the movie, a Burger King costume and mask would be the perfect addition to anyone's closet. It may even come in handy during the Halloween season or to have fun at a local barbecue!

You can pick up your own Burger King mask and Burger King costume at BestCostumeSite.com.

Decorating Outside Your Home For Halloween (A Spooky Theme)

HalLoWeeN MasKs

For many people the best part of Halloween is being able to decorate the outside of their home. This doesn't have to be limited to just the front yard. Decorating the backyard can create a very spooky atmosphere. You can even design a detour that will take each of your guests on a long walk that circles the backyard before leading them to the entrance. This way they get to enjoy the full benefits of your decorating efforts.

The traditional pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns make great additions when you decorate the outside of your home for Halloween. The light that these decorations give off will help your guest to see their way around and add the perfect lighting to create scary shadows that surround the other decorations. Ghost and goblins are an old favorite that can still make your guest look over their shoulder twice. Don't be afraid to get very creative with these items. Some of the newer designs are now being made inflatable to help give them an even more lifelike appearance.

The use of a fog machine can create an illusion that can make your yard the spookiest of all. This is especially true when you litter the lawn with fake body parts and fake blood splattered all about the area. The fog just intensifies the whole spooky theme. Don't forget about a special door bell ring that alerts you of the incoming guest with screams, howling or some other unique Halloween greeting. You can even have a host that is decked out in one of the scariest costumes around to stand outside your door to personally welcome each and every one of you Halloween guest.

Add special sound effects that will begin whenever your guest walks past a certain area. You can also use props that are programmed on a timer to go off at specific intervals. Spider webs are also a great decorating idea that will help you to create a spooky outdoor theme. Make sure that you don't forget the customary black cat and maybe a witch or two sitting in the trees watching the guest wondering by. It's just not Halloween without a few traditional items.

How to Make Alien Masks

HalLoWeeN MasKs

The Alien Mask has been an all time favorite part of Halloween costumes for many years now. Creating one requires good preparation, a little patience and some household objects or materials. Speaking of the incoming Halloween season, don't deny yourself in having one. Below is a list of tips on how to create the best alien mask that could totally freak everyone out.

First, gather all the materials needed. Have news paper strips in one inch width, paint, awl or ice pick, cord, ribbon or strings to use as ties, masking tape, yarn or fake hair and paper mache paste.

Before starting to create your alien mask, cover your work area with newspaper or plastic to prevent scratches or damages. After which, make a paper mache paste by mixing three tablespoons of salt, a cup of flour, and two cups of water. Mix well until the solution is very thick then soak the news paper strips on it. Have someone assist you in doing this. Create layers of aluminum foil and press it on your face to form a duplicate of your feature. Make sure that you have a perfect copy on the foil. Remove the foil slowly and carefully. Use a bundled up news paper to support the aluminum foil in order not to remove the imprint. Place the foil on your work area.

Cover the entire surface of the foil with the use of news paper strips that you soaked on the paper mache goo a while ago. Do this carefully. Too much pressure might disrupt the imprints in the foil. After filling the surface all up, set it aside and allow drying. In creating an alien feature, you can use cut out shapes from sponges, foams, crumpled foils/papers, chicken wire, toilet tissue, paper clips, card board, juice boxes, paper towels and other materials and tape it on the mask. Let loose of your wildest imagination.

After drying the mask, add two more layers of paper mache goo. Allow every layer to dry out completely before applying another layer. You can do detailing of your alien mask with the use of paper mache goo. You can smoothen the texture of the mask, add thick wrinkles, extend the brows, enlarge the lips, widen the eye sockets, over exaggerate the ears and deform the nose. Color the alien mask with the use of acrylic paints, glow in the dark goo, or other coloring materials. Add some fringe, yarns, hair and other scraps on your mask to make it look nasty and scary.

Create holes for the eyes, nose and mouth with the use of an ice pick. Caution with its use to avoid accidents. Also make a hole on each side of the alien mask. Insert a yarn on each hole and knot well. Make sure that the tie is long enough to fit your head. Now it's your time to do the scaring!

Contacts For Halloween - An Overview Of Getting Eye Contacts For Halloween

HalLoWeeN MasKs

Consider contacts for Halloween if you want to spice up your costume this year!

Eye contacts for Halloween will give you an unforgettable Halloween experience, whether you have a party to go to, or some other kind of event.

People won't be able to help but do a double-take and be mesmerized by your theatrical eye contacts.

Whether you need prescription eye lenses for Halloween, or want to wear contact lenses just for fun, it is possible to do either. Almost anybody can wear them.

There are tons of styles to choose from and some are more popular than others.

Scleral eye contacts are large in diameter that cover all or almost all of your eye for an incredible effect. You may have seen the skeletal teeth or flames look.

Movie special effect lenses have been used in movies for years, and are inspired by lenses seen in major motion pictures. Turn into Alice In Wonderland's character, The Mad Hatter, with Louis lenses. The vampire look is ever-popular this year, so consider wearing Gold Vampire contacts.

Fun eye contacts have funky designs and are great for parties and photos too. Get people smiling with the Smiley or Rock Star contact lenses.

Scary lenses look creepy and are perfect for zombies, monsters and other creatures. If looking freaky is your thing, you can get Blood Red or Possessed styles.

Some of the more popular contact lenses for Halloween include glow-in-the-dark rave lenses, white out lenses, angelic blue, cat eye and vampire styles.

If you have concerns that wearing novelty contacts may not be safe, just be sure that you get ones that are a right fit for your eyes. Always follow care and handling instructions as directed.

Be sure to never share your contacts.

Contacts for Halloween can be worn more than once, so you can wear them on another occasion as well. However, don't wear them more than 8 hours in a day, and never overnight.

It's a good idea to carry contact lens eye drops with you, in case your eyes get dry.

If you are the type of person that likes to get noticed, and to stand out from the crowd, than eye contacts for Halloween will be the perfect addition to your costume.

Scary Halloween Masks - Frighten Your Friends This Halloween

HalLoWeeN MasKs

Halloween calls forth images of spirits, ghosts, vampires of the underworld as well as other scary monsters. It stirs up shock and fright and starts the heart pounding in dread of the mysterious and unknown. The words and phrases of Halloween and horror will always be synonymous. Consistent with the scary characteristics of this annual event, partygoers put on scary Halloween masks and other spooky and frightening face masks and outfits which start the adrenaline coursing.

The beginnings of Halloween spooky and frightening face masks start with ancient Celtic festivities. Hundreds of years ago, winter months were a period of adversity. The shorter days of the winter season were distressing and the pagans were fearful of going out after dark since they thought that on Halloween night when the human world combined with the afterworld, spirits came back to earth, hovering about and searching for fresh bodies to exist in.

In order to pacify the enraged ghosts they'd often burn bonfires, which were looked over by Druids, and they would sacrifice animals. In order to safeguard themselves these people would likely put on face masks created from animal heads so they could move about unrecognized, mimicking the actual dead spirits in order that the ghosts could confuse them for other spirits. Out of this practice came Halloween spooky and frightening face masks.

This specific observance of making use of terrifying masks carried on for hundreds of years until Pope Boniface IV proclaimed Halloween as a Christian holiday. However, men and women in Europe carried on with the old custom in order to fend off evil spirits. In America, celebrating Halloween was taboo by many right up until the last century. For these people, it absolutely was a satanic holiday. But during this time period, in order to control vandalism among young people, parents returned to the ancient Celtic practice of putting on face masks during Halloween, which would evoke fearfulness and amazement. The town of Anoka in Minnesota was actually the first one to observe Halloween in complete masked costumes in 1920.

Throughout the Celtic era, putting on face masks had been an issue of life or death, because the concern with the unknown surrounded everyone. Even so, as time passed, scary Halloween masks found a brand new significance. Today, it is a symbol of entertainment as well as just plain fun. These days, amongst the most common face masks are witches, werewolves and, ironically, hockey masks (because of Jason in the Friday the 13th movies). Young girls often wear witch face masks to look scary. These can be incredibly intimidating and frightening.

The werewolf face mask gets its source in Greek mythology. The human man Lycoan with his 50 sons attempted to amuse Zeus by giving him a bowl of human flesh. This so disgusted and enraged Zeus that he transformed all of them into werewolves. Thus the tale of werewolves came to America along with the immigrants, so nowadays huge numbers of people, especially children, like to put on werewolf face masks on Halloween.

The concept of sporting scary hockey face masks for Halloween is comparatively new, due to the series of horror motion pictures, Friday the 13th.

These days, Halloween spooky masks manufactured from rubber, foam, latex and even paper mache have shed their wicked associations and no more motivate amazement and fear. They are simply a part of a costume put on by those who join in with Halloween fun-making. These face masks of monsters, witches, demons, vampires, skeletons and mummies that are put on on Halloween night or at Halloween parties have kept their spooky and frightening look, but no longer terrify us.

Come and see all the scary Halloween masks that are easily available online. You'll be amazed how frightening these simple vinyl and plastic masks can look. We even found the lowest prices on them at the UltimateHalloweenSite.com

Halloween Activities for Young Children

HalLoWeeN MasKs

Celebrate the annual Fright Night with these seventeen fun (and not so scary) ideas, especially for young children.

1. Try your hand at face painting, or allow your children to paint each other's faces with washable face paints.

2. Make your own goodie bags. Set out some brown paper bags with the standard art supplies or embellish an old pillowcase with fabric paints. You can even spring for blank canvas baggies from your local discount store or craft store without spending a lot.

3. Tie-dye some T-shirts or socks using orange and black fabric dyes.

4. Make ghosts. Fold a piece of black construction paper in half and let your child squirt white paint inside. Squish the paint between the paper, let dry, then embellish the white ghost with paints, markers and other craft supplies.

5. Make homemade slime. This is always a popular activity. Here is a great recipe from Family Fun Magazine: http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=10684

6. Watch a Halloween movie. Make popcorn, cuddle up together in blankets, and take in some spooky cinematic sights. Harry Potter, Dracula, or Ghostbusters are great choices. For younger children, choose Heffalump Halloween, starring Winnie the Pooh or The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad by Disney Classics.

7. Eat creepy cuisine. Cut sandwiches or tortillas into Halloween shapes with cookie cutters. Create a ghoulish look with almost anything by mixing in a little green or red food coloring.

8. Play "Guess How Many Pumpkin Seeds." Each family member or party guest gets to take turns guessing how many pumpkin seeds are in a jar. The winner gets a prize.

9. Go apple bobbing. Fill a bucket or tub with water and apples and see how many apples each contestant can snag.

10. Make masks. Set out the art supplies and see who can make the scariest mask with a paper plate, construction paper, yarn, and markers or paints.

11. Create a family costume. Come up with a costume theme that the whole family can participate in. One year, we were all Star Wars characters. Maybe you will all be people from the Wild West or fuzzy forest animals.

12. Have a pumpkin seed spitting contest.

13. Roast pumpkin seeds. Clean the pumpkin seeds and toss them in just enough melted butter to lightly cover the seeds. (One tablespoon of butter is generally enough for the seeds from a medium sized pumpkin.) Salt the seeds, then spread them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 250 degrees until golden brown, stirring occasionally.

14. Play Pin the Tail on the Black Cat (or Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin.) Any variation of Pin the Tail on the Donkey is fun for young kids.

15. Make a Scare Tape. Record you and your family members making spooky sounds. All you need is a tape recorder and a little imagination. Include footsteps, slamming doors, creepy howling werewolves, and crazy cackles. Play the tape from your front porch on Halloween.

16. Give each child an inexpensive disposable camera for the big night. This is a fun way to see what Halloween looks like from their perspective. I love to give my kids a blank journal and let them tell the story of memorable events, such as Halloween. This is a great tradition and really helps them to tell their personal stories, which they will cherish for many Halloweens to come.

17. Once Halloween is over, make sure to shop the post Halloween sales for fun additions to your dress up closet, which your young children are sure to enjoy year round.

Happy haunting!

Why Do People Love Halloween Face Paint?

HalLoWeeN MasKs

Halloween might be right around the corner, and you must have already planned, or are in the process of planning what you are going to do on this fun night. Not only would you be figuring out your plans for that day that comes only once a year, but you might also be deciding on your Halloween costume.

The ideas for Halloween costumes are endless. You can be nice or scary, pretty or gruesome, in whatever mood you are, you can find a costume store, or any other place that sells Halloween costumes. Another great idea apart from the costume for Halloween is using face-paints. People love Halloween face paint because there is so much you can do with it.

When it comes to face painting, there are endless possibilities. You can paint anything from witches to clowns to mimes. Face-paints are available for sale online or in stores. You just have to make sure to buy paints that are labelled specifically for face-painting, as other paints might be hard to remove, and might cause some skin reactions if you have particularly sensitive skin.

Face paints are good because they are designed specifically for use on skin. However, if you want to ensure that it will come off easily, then you can apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly on your face before applying the paint.

Also, if you are new at the whole face-painting business, then do not worry. All you have to do is hop online, and you can find easy step-by-step instructions on how to make a specific design. Some people have also posted videos with easy instructions to face-painting.

Face-painting is a great idea for any occasion, but is particularly loved on Halloween. By using face-paints, you can save on masks; instead of buying them and not being able to use them anymore after Halloween, you can paint your face and save the paints for any other occasion, whereas, masks for Halloween will be used only on Halloween, and will then require a dustbin. In addition, if you only buy specific colours to use on Halloween, you can always buy other colours to use on any other next occasion.

When it comes to Halloween face-paints, the only question one can ask is what you cannot do with the paints, as the ideas are endless. By using face-paints, one does not have to worry much about their costumes. You can wear all black, and paint your face as a mime, or as a witch; you just need to buy a pointed hat to go with the ensemble.

Both adults and children alike love Halloween face paints and you can see why. Not only is it economical, but it is fun and the ideas are vast. Face paint can be reused, and it can be reapplied. Both the people applying it as well as the ones having it done have fun during the process as the end result is always fun to see. Therefore, if you are unsure as to what to do this Halloween, try face-paints.

There are a wide range of child friendly Halloween Face Paint products available to buy. Have a look at all the Halloween Face Paint Ideas on this site.

Easy to Make Halloween Costumes For Kids

HalLoWeeN MasKs

Halloween can be a busy time for mothers. Apart from the usual cooking and running the household, you'll now have to worry about goodies for Trick and Treat, Halloween parties, decorations and costumes for the children. What's a mother to do when she hardly has time to brush her hair? Don't fret, supermom, here are some no-fuss, easy-to-make Halloween costumes for kids that will have you thanking your lucky stars. And, oh, your kids will love you for them too.

1. Cartoon/TV/Movie Character

The easiest way to make a costume is to not have to make anything at all! The good thing about going as characters is that they usually wear clothes you can find in your children's closet. Well, don't encourage your kid to go as Bugs Bunny or something. Here are some characters you and your children will love:

Rainbow Bright

Everybody loves this cheerful ray of sunshine. And all you'll need is a brightly-colored skirt, an equally bright shirt, rainbow knee-high socks and you're all set! Oh, and don't forget the pigtails and the star sticker on your daughter's cheek.

Harry Potter/Hermione Granger/Ron Weasley

Okay. So a lot of kids might go as the famous kids from Hogwarts, but if your tiny tot insists on going as one, then good for you! All you'll need is a black toga (a black cloth will do), a wand and a pair of glasses for Harry. If your daughter is going as Hermione, just mess her hair up into tangled curls. If your son wants to be Ron, just get him an orange wig - if he doesn't already have red hair.

Ninja

If your kid is into karate, why don't you suggest a ninja costume for him/her? All you'll need is an all-black outfit and a black face mask (you can use an old knit hat and cut holes for the eyes and nose).

2. Animals

If your kid begs you to make an animal costume for him/her, don't fret. You don't have to sew an entire cow costume to make the kid happy. Use face paint instead to draw whiskers, snouts and other effects. And for floppy ears for your puppy? You can always find headbands with different kinds of animal ears on them. Or you could make some yourself out of cardboard and colored paper. For the body, dress the children in solid colors. All brown for your puppy, for example, white for the kitten.

3. Prince/Princess

Oh, you're lucky if your child wants to go as a Prince or Princess - it's the easiest costume! All you'll need is a frilly dress or a regular tux and a crown.

Friendly tip: Start thinking about costumes at least two weeks before Halloween. This way, you and your child can brainstorm ideas that will not only be easy to make, but both of you will like. Remember, costumes are important for kids on Halloween! Be sure to decide on one that your child will be proud of.

Good luck and happy Trick or Treat-ing!
