Halloween Masks: Frightful or Funny, the Choice is Yours!
Halloween Masks come in all types and sizes. They can be painted on with a skillful hand, bought in online stores, made by hand from latex, foam rubber latex prosthetics, cut from paper, or made from paper. Whether you choose fun clowns, evil clowns, or a monkey face, the look you want is not beyond your reach.
Halloween Masks that cover the eyes, but can slip, are dangerous, and can hamper vision, putting your little ghost or goblin at risk for an accident from stepping into a hole and taking a fall, to stepping in front of a moving vehicle. Anytime you can use make up or a mask made of a non-slip latex prosthetic, it is much better. Safety should never be compromised by a mask that slips and blocks vision.

The History Behind Halloween - Do You Know the Truth?
Halloween can also be called the feast of Hallowmas, All Saints Day, or Allhallows. The history behind Halloween is connected all the way back to the ancient druids. Now the Druids that believe that on this evening the lord of the dead called upon host for evil spirits. The Druids they would light fires on the night of Halloween for the purpose of warding off the evil spirits. The ancient Celts they believed that the history behind Halloween was that the last evening of the year and people of this time would actually examine portents for the future.
The Celts also believed that spirits of the dead revisited their homes on the night of Halloween. When Romans conquered Britain they added Halloween to the Roman Harvest festival on the first of November. Masks have been used in many cultures and civilizations since time immemorial to hide or to protect human faces. These are remarkable objects, created by the imaginative members of traditional civilizations. The tradition of Masks dates back to the early 6th century B.C.
It was used throughout the world. People from Alaskan cultures used Masks along with drumming, dancing and story telling. They used then on many ceremonial occasions. In ancient times people used design masks. These masks were generally in the form of animals or other persons. These included ceremonial masks, festival masks and theatrical masks. In medieval Rome people used masks to hide their promiscuity, because Rome was less populated and people knew each other well.
Common raw materials used for masks are clay, cloth, cornhusks, feathers, fiber, furs, grass, horn, leather, metal, paper, shell, stone paper, and wood. These range from simple masks to intricate carvings, and from polished wood to mosaics and gaudy adornments. Nowadays there are protective masks like gas masks, catcher's masks in a baseball game and welder's masks to protect from the intense light of welding machines.

Choose a Real Spiderman Costume for Your Kids Costumes This Year
