Frankenstein Childrens Halloween Masks kids costumes/masks

Frankenstein Childrens Halloween Masks Specifications

This creepy mask of Frankenstein's monster affords the wearer a couple of options. One could be the lumbering, misunderstood brute of the 1931 original film, or the lumbering, more broadly comical brute of the classic remake by Mel Brooks. Either way, the strap-on plastic mask's eye and nose holes provide easy breathing and visibility, so you can more easily spot angry villagers coming over the heath and smell the burning tower you'll find yourself in later. To complete the look, you'll need to add the oversize wool suit and clunky shoes yourself.

Face Painting Ideas For Halloween

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Face painting is common at different parties and people call professional painters to paint the faces of people. Sometimes the painters have a list of designs with them and people choose the design. The selection of designs depends on the event for which faces are to be painted.

At Halloween parties the trend of face painting is very common. Face painting is the best alternative to buying costly costumes or Masks for Halloween parties. With the help of already available make up items people can make different designs on their faces according to the occasion.

Some people paint their faces themselves instead of taking the help of a professional painter because the painter might be busy at Halloween parties. Also, it takes time to make an appointment with the painter and wait for your turn.

For Halloween parties face painting, people can take any idea from many available ideas. It is very interesting to add scary and frightening effects by using fake blood that can be painted on light colored foundation. Scars can also be painted to give a scary look. The use of different colors can make the person look terrifying. Face paintings for Halloween parties must match with the costume of a person to give a complete haunting appearance.

On different websites many ideas are available to paint the face in a unique way. A very simple and most commonly used design is to paint the face like a ghost. The shape of the ghost like design is triangular. With white paint, a loose triangle is painted and a wavy line is drawn to outline the ghost like appearance. All the area of the triangle is filled with white paints and eyes are dotted with black paint. The final step is to make the smile of the ghost. The overall appearance is very interesting and scary for kids.

Another fascinating idea is to dot the face with the help of candy corn that are painted in different colors. The shape of the design is like the shape of a pyramid. It is yellow on the bottom, orange at the middle and white at the peak. A candy corn crown can be created by painting the candies and by sticking them along the forehead.

Another idea that can be carried out for Halloween parties is to paint jack-o-lantern. In the beginning, a circle of orange paint is painted and when the orange paint is dried, then small triangles of black paint are added on this design for the nose and eyes. A smile is also painted with black color as well. Then a green stem is added as a final step to complete the jack-o-lantern look.

Some other common ideas for Halloween designs include witches, skeletons, zombies, vampires and cats etc. All of these painting designs allow the person whose face is being painted, to see the world easily than wearing Masks.

Mont Blanc Pens

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Since time immemorial, pens have been part and parcel of people's lifestyles. From the ancient feather ones that were used centuries ago to the modern classic and trendy types that are common today, they have faced a lot of transition to reach where they are today. They use ink of varying shades of black, blue, red and green. The word pen is derived from a Latin word, 'Penna', which means feather. In the market today, you will find pens that they are referred to using different names like felt, fountain, ballpoints, quills, reed and many more.

The Mont Blanc pens have their origin in Germany. The company that manufactures them is called Montblanc International GMBH, which is famous for its 'White Star' logo symbol. The logo is the white six-pointed star with round edges. It was founded by Claus Johannes Voss, Alfred Nehemias and August Eberstein in 1906. The initial name was Simplo Filler Pen and the Mont Blancs pens were the second model that they produced.

Today the company is known as Mont Blanc company and is part of of the Richemont group that sells a range of luxury products. Other writing tools that are a product of this company are Scenium, the Starwalker and the Boheme. However, today the Mont Blanc ones are highly critiqued because those who use them feel that the quality has gone down, while the prices are still high.

The company is accused of not giving a long term warranty as compared to its competitors. For this reason the company is slowly losing grip of the market, but its never too late to change.

Frame Tents - Essential Protection From Any Possible Weather Issues During Your Wedding

If you are planning to have an outdoor wedding or reception, you will probably want to use frame tents. These will provide a perfect shelter in case of any weather related issues. No one wants it to rain on his or her wedding day, but unfortunately, it does happen. If you have shelter available for the guests and for your wedding party, then everyone will stay happy and dry. Even if it does not rain, it will be nice to have a covered area so that people may step into the shade on a warm day.

Beyond protecting your guests from the elements, frame tents look nice! You can turn a simple backyard into an elegant venue. The coverings for these typically come in canvas or polyester and since they are available in white, they add a beautiful touch to the event. You can find versions that are peaked for an extra special touch. Some have gathered fabric curtaining on the sides that can be pulled closed if needed. Others have zip in screening. This is really nice for an evening reception in the middle of summer. Trying to eat with little gnats, flies and mosquitoes flying around and landing on food is just not appetizing. With screening, you can create a sheltered and enclosed area for your guests while still allowing the ambiance that you are seeking with an outdoor event.

You can find frame tents in a very wide array of sizes. Whether you are entertaining 20 people or 200, you will be able to accommodate receptions of any size. A 10'x 10' canopy style with faux windows is perfect for a wedding where you are accompanied by your closest family members. If you are planning a small reception with around 30 close friends, you may want to go with a 16' x 16'. For a larger party, a 30' x 30' tent can accommodate 200 people plus tables, chairs, a band stage and a dance floor.

As far as set up goes, it does require some work. You may want to consider setting up the frame tents ahead of time if possible. If that is not an option and you must set up the morning of the wedding, you will want to hire laborers to handle this. Staking is important so that you do not have a blow over incident. Staking is not always required, but it is better to err on the side of caution when it comes to something as important as your wedding day! Also, keep in mind that you can heat the tent if the weather is chillier than you had planned on. If the reception is being held in the evening, lighting should be placed to further enhance the atmosphere.

If you decide to go with white frame tents, remember that you can always incorporate the wedding colors into the venue by using colored linens on your tables or having your decorator add a splash of color to your cake.

Frame tents 101 is a blog all about this type of tenting. Frame tents are handy to have for any outdoor event, especially weddings.

Blue Junior Physician Outfit with Lab Coat, Scrub Set, and Stethoscope, Size 6/8 Review

We purchased this for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas. I had searched for doctor's costume that seemed realistic and well-made and only found this one. I was a bit nervous as there was only one review but was relieved to see when we got it that it is a very nice set. It comes with the scrubs (pants, booties, shirt, cap and mask) and the doctor's white lab coat and a nice realistic stethoscope (works but the heartbeat sound is very faint). As for size, it fits my 6 year old with the sleeves and pants cuffed. The hat just fits - I'm not sure it would actually still fit her at age 8. Since the scrubs are short sleeved, if your child is at the high end of the age range you might want to order the next size up. Bottom line, if you're looking for a child's doctor's costume this may be the best one out there or at least the best you'll find on Amazon!

Can Halloween Survive a Struggling Economy?

Turn on the television and all you seem to hear these days is bad news. In terms of economic conditions, the United States as well as the rest of the world haven't seen such a downturn in decades. Problems with the world economy stem from corrupt bank officials, crooked, scandalous politicians, growing unemployment rates, unrest over energy concerns, and world peace or a lack thereof. Certainly there are other reasons contributing to the world's economic struggle and it appears we won't see total resolution and financial utopia any time soon. Holidays have become totally commercialized. Christmas is the holiday that first comes to mind when it comes to spending money and Halloween actually happens to be the second most commercially successful holiday in the annual roster.

Christmas and Halloween in the same sentence? With regards to spending your hard-earned dollars is it very possible to speak of them together. Christmas, a religious holiday, has obviously evolved tremendously since its inception. Halloween has experienced very similar changes. At Christmas, we buy gifts for family and friends, at Halloween we treat strangers, mostly children, to free candy and goodies. At Christmas we decorate our homes with beautiful religious decorations as well as with many other holiday-themed items. At Halloween we do the same for our homes, only we dazzle and delight the neighborhood with creppy, crawly decor. At Christmas we spend a little extra for some special clothing, maybe an outfit we wouldn't normally wear except on special occasions, but at Halloween we buy costumes so family and friends might not even recognize us. The two holidays have one thing in common however, and that is spending money. Both Christmas and Halloween can be costly annual events to consumers.

Comparing Christmas and Halloween during a bad economy raises many questions. Can the average household afford to spend as much as they did last year? Do we really need more decorations? Can we eliminate some gifts? With tighter budgets taking hold everywhere, Halloween appears to be the first holiday to be affected. Christmas, by far the largest commercial holiday of the year, encompasses family gatherings and religious celebration. It is a time of the year that everyone can enjoy regardless of religious background. It is a complete holiday season with generations of traditions and family get-togethers. Halloween however, is a holiday of fun. A spooky night of scary decor and costumes. Children sing songs, eat candy, and investigate local haunted houses and seasonal attractions. Adults also take time to enjoy parties dressed in costumes, Masks, and makeup. Obviously, the budget for Halloween has much more room for adjustment.

Halloween costumes can be store-bought or home-made. A great costume really doesn't need to cost much, and we've all got at least some creativity inside. Decorations don't always have to be manufactured in a factory, some of the scariest decor on public display each year is also home-made. Annual budgets for households celebrating Halloween can easily be manipulated without compromising the holiday itself. The problem is that retailers of Halloween goodies, tricks, treats, scary decor, and costumes may feel the pinch when the Halloween season comes to a close. A struggling economy won't shut down Halloween, but I think it's safe to say it may not flourish commercially as it has in the recent past.

Halloween Costumes Gone Viral is a fun site where users can post photos of homemade Halloween costumes and maybe even go viral. There are also classic Halloween costumes available for purchase.

    Halloween Decorations and Fear Itself

    Image : http://www.flickr.com

It's a scary world out there, and so it is no wonder that the popularity of the holiday formerly known as All Hallows' Eve has risen in recent years, ensuring continued healthy product sales of wholesale Halloween decorations, endless recordings of screams from cheap horror films, bulk seasonal candy closeouts, and all the other trappings that go with the one holiday devoted to scares and outlandish costumes. But why is a holiday devoted both to fright and fantasy so enduring?

Fantasy and horror are, if you think about it, mostly about control. Fantasy, like the Harry Potter books and Lord of the Rings, are often about largely powerful beings, sometimes with the help of seemingly less powerful creatures, working together to fight a very powerful evil. Horror is mainly about powerless, ordinary humans fleeing, and only occasionally defeating, an all but unstoppable evil force. The fun part is that's it's only a story and, in real life, we're very unlikely to have to flee brain eating zombies, vampires, or superhuman murderers, and the enduring success of horror comedies like the cult hit Shaun of the Dead play off that real world/unreal world dichotomy.

No one enjoys being actually frightened for any extended period, but from our earliest ages we love safe, short-lived, scares - a trusted friend or relative sneaking up behind us and saying "boo" is fun because the result is actually a kind of reassurance that our terror was groundless, after all - our momentary lack of control provides the tension, and the fact that we were fine all along provides the release. Thrill rides are similar in that we willingly subject ourselves to something that appears to be extremely dangerous, while actually being much safer than crossing the street. And so, there is a reason that every classic fairy tale, and most great family films, includes an element of terror. We've heard rumors that theater owners used to have to spend a fair amount of money to replace a certain number of urine-soaked seats whenever screening Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. She might have caused countless nightmares for little ones, but without the terrifying, witch-like Evil Queen, there would be no one for the once powerless heroine and her diminutive friends to triumph over.

And so, Halloween celebrates both side of the fantasy/horror equations, and what the products we buy to celebrate mirror that dichotomy. Just as horror films range from once horrifying but now enjoyably dated monster classics like the 1930's productions of Frankenstein and Dracula, to innumerable more recent ultra-disturbing opuses produced on the cheap, so do popular costumes range from superheroes (power fantasies), to sexy nurse outfits (celebrating a different kind of power), to Masks resembling political figures (depending on your opinions, a different kind of horror, perhaps), to the budding make-up wizards who try to turn our stomachs in the style of famed gore make-up genius Tom Savini.

Of course, while adults have been increasingly co-opting Halloween for their own purposes, it remains very largely a children's holiday. It is therefore the more fun and cartoony bulk products and cheap items that prevail at sellers of wholesale Halloween decorations or that you see at the drug store closeout discount counter - scary/silly false teeth, coloring books, and themed bulk candy in various shapes that give little ones a sense of empowerment over their most fanciful fears. What better way to show your mastery over a monster than to eat it?

This article has been written by Marc Joseph, who is a long-time fan of getting low discounts on bulk wholesale Halloween products.

    Halloween Masks

    Image : http://www.flickr.com

The contemporary celebration of Halloween comes from the ancient Celtic festival of `Samhain.' It is an annual celebration observed on October 31. It is a tapered version of All Hallows Eve. Halloween came to America through the Irish, who are believed to be modern descendents of the Celts. When the potato crop failed in Ireland, they migrated to America and brought their cultural practices with them.

Halloween was also observed as a harvest festival and New Year by the Celts. It also served as a vent for high morale before the onset of winter. In fact, in the 5th Century B.C. in Celtic Ireland summer officially ended on October 31 and the Samhain was observed on this occasion.

Masks are now used as part of Halloween celebrations. There are foam latex faces of ape men, aliens, demons, devils, mummies, reptiles, skulls, swamp witches, vampires, werewolves, zombies and other scary monsters.

The ancient Celts believed that all those who had died throughout the preceding year would come back in search of living bodies to possess for the next year. This was unacceptable for living people, so on the night of October 31 villagers would put out fires in their homes to make the spirits feel discarded. They would then dress up in all manner of macabre costumes and parade around the neighborhood in order to scare away spirits looking for live bodies to possess. There is also a record of Celts flaming up people thought to be haunted, as a stern warning to the spirits. However, modern historians dismiss these as fairy tales.

Masks provides detailed information on African Masks, Feather Masks, Gorilla Masks, Halloween Masks and more. Masks is affiliated with Yoga Mats.

    Cigaretter

A cigarette or Cigaretter (Swedish language) is 120 mm long and 10 mm diameter paper-wrapped cylindrical shaped structure containing shredded, cured or cut tobacco leaves. Used for inhaling the smoke produced by burning non-filtered end of cigarette, by keeping filtered end in mouth. The above stated size of cigarette is normal size but it may differ with different brands of cigarette. The main function of cigarette is to make the inhalation of tobacco smoke through mouth.

The filter of different brands of cigarette is made up of cotton, acetate or cellulose through which tobacco smoke is inhaled in mouth. This filter helps to purify and decrease the temperature of smoke generated by burning tobacco.

Guess Who: Not Great but Not Bad Either

A mix of "Meet the Parents" and "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," Guess Who is just funny enough. Starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher, "Guess Who" tells the tale of Simon Green (Kutcher) as he travels home with his girlfriend Theresa (Zoe Saladana) to meet her family. Of course she has failed to mention to anyone, particularly her father (Bernie Mac) that her new boyfriend is white.

The movie could have been a disaster. It had the potential to fall into all of the stereotypes we have come to expect from black and white comedies, "Bringing Down the House" and "Miss Congeniality 2" being two of the worst offenders in recent memory. Admittedly there is a little of that here: Kutcher's character is goaded into telling black jokes at dinner with Theresa's family that includes her racially intolerant grandfather, and Mac's character lies about his daughter's boyfriend to an employee, describing him instead as a black man named Jamal who lives in Atlanta, plays basketball and went to Howard University. Aside from these examples, "Guess Who" manages to rise above the obvious racial pitfalls and is a movie that's fairly funny, a little enlightening and surprisingly endearing.

The flip side of the movie's attempt not to fall into racial stereotypes is that it goes a little too far in the opposite direction. Kutcher's character is the kid from the broken home, with the single mother and dad who left when he was two. Percy is the upper class snob with a love of NASCAR. I know the movie was trying to make a point that all black people aren't impoverished or from broken homes and all white people aren't racist suburban snobs, but sometimes the movie felt like they didn't even believe what they were trying to sell themselves. It felt as if they were yelling "Hey look, no really look, black people can be wealthy, successful and like sports other then basketball and football," at the top of their lungs.

Other then that, "Guess Who" isn't a bad way to spend two hours of your life. There is little chemistry between Kutcher and Saladana but Bernie Mac and Kutcher light up the screen, and display some of the best on-screen chemistry going, especially for two people who aren't romantically involved. Scenes where they are playing in-door football and getting drunk are priceless, and a sequence where they have to face a house full of angry women to get their significant others to come back home is funny, sweet and very believable.

All in all "Guess Who" is worth your six dollars. It won't get nominated for an Oscar or be at the forefront in enhancing race relations but it is not a bad way to spend an afternoon. You get enough laughs to keep you interested, and it's a movie that appeals to both sexes, so you can take a date and everyone will be pleased.

Three Questions To Ask Yourself Before You Buy Toys For Your Kids

    Image : http://www.flickr.com

Some toys are over hyped and others that I quite like, are never advertised. When I see new toys or the kid wants something she saw on TV, I usually ask myself "What can this toy be used for" and "How long will it keep the kid interested." The last question I sometimes never ask, cause I never get that far is "Does the toy teach anything or does it build imagination or some other characteristic."

These three questions, hopefully will give me an idea about the usefulness and longevity of the new toy. If the toy passes the first two questions then it is into the realm of learning. Some toys never make it this far, they are just ornaments. I don't look at the safety aspect as most toys are safe, but I am careful with little bits and pieces.

For the first question I think about what you can do with the toy. Whether you can play alone or with friends. Can it be used with other toys to do other things, or is it a one hit wonder.

As an example we will use the Star Wars Darth Vader Mask. This little toy is very popular because of the film, but I think its usefulness is very limited. You could use it in pretend play but how long will that last. I would say this type of toy is used for sharing, a sort of play and share toy to see who can come up with the most outrageous line. It is not really the type of toy you could play with by yourself.

For the second question I think this toy would be discarded quite early, as there seems to be very little to keep the kid amused. Once you have said your few lines what do you then. Then again there are all the accessories to buy to go with the mask, like the clothes and boots. The money is in the accessories these days. Unless your kid wants to be an actor I would not get around to asking the third question.

The toys I do like are the LEGOS, the MEGA BLOKS and the PLAYMOBILS that the kids use to build things. Gone are the days when I was young and LEGO was a bucket of bricks that you could make anything with. The only limit was your imagination.

Nowadays imagination has gone out the door to be replaced with an operator's manual so you get all the bricks and accessories in the right place. They are still fun to do. The finished product is a beautiful crafted masterpiece that usually ends up on top of the piano or coffee table until the cat destroys it.

So far for my kid the max is three times to redo one. So I would say the novelty wears off after three attempts. These toys build finishing ability and teach how to follow a plan. Also they are good for a rainy afternoon as they can take some time to finish. But the downside is they can be very pricey.

For these toys the answer to the first questions would be-- the kid can build something. They can see the finished product and match it with the picture to see if it is correct. The next answer would be they can remake it or make there own design. And for the last question I would say the kid should definitely learn something while putting the blocks together.

Using these three questions I somehow manage to buy what I consider to be useful toys. Therefore I am not swamped by the advertising hype or the "Keeping up with the Jones" sort of thing.

Why Personalized Champagne Glasses Make Great Prom Favors

Consider prom, or the high school dance, as the one of the central, most hyped and anticipated moments, celebrations and paragons of teenage-life. The prom is a pinnacle of years of expectations and months of planning go into making prom everything it is supposed to be.

Through popular culture and a number of Hollywood movies, proms have taken on almost mythical proportions. A number of reality shows on cable television frequently cover behind the scenes of prom preparations, prom evenings, prom nights with all of the fun, drama and commotion that follow.

Prom here America, is almost as much a staple event, as the wedding and follows a rigorous amount of tradition, routines and procedures - all of which are important.

The booming business around Prom is extensive and commonly centers around the black tie or tuxedo for the boys and the traditional prom dress for the girl - often purchased in specialized shops or boutiques that make a living on just Prom.

According to tradition, the girls will be wearing a corsage on their wrist and boys a matching boutonnières. According to an article in USA Today from 4/28/2004, costs for a teenager on prom night ranges from $400 to $3,000 - commonly including clothing, hair, flower arrangements, nice dinner and a white limousine.

The evening traditionally begins at someone's house where a group of friends gather before going to dinner or the actual prom dance together. Ideally, a limousine will take the crowd of teenagers to their destination.

As with all celebrations and festivities of magnitude, it is customary to toast with the parents or each other and Champagne Flutes, commonly called just Champagne Glasses are an excellent way of making the event more special and memorable.

Personalized Champagne glasses at Prom are a great idea to dazzle the crowd of friends with a festive touch. Prom will be remembered through a life time and so will the people that were there, the dresses and the surrounding elements.

But the Prom-customized Champagne glasses don't just have to be used for home. Many ballrooms or banquet halls being decorated for prom feature a drinking area where fruit punch and other beverages are being served. Here, Champagne glasses are an excellent option instead of traditional glasses, or plastic cups or mugs.

The Champagne Glasses will increase the fun factor and the feeling of exclusivity significantly for the attendants.

Monster Comics - I Am Coming For You

For those of you out there the best time of the year is coming up. Monster comics are published in full force each and every October. This is because of the holiday at the end of the month, Halloween. This is not only done because so many people are looking for that scary story to tell at their Halloween costume part, but for ideas on an all new costume.

Not every detail that is drawn in the monster comics can be brought to life, but you would be surprised how realistic the Masks can be. Many of the best ideas come from the blitz of new characters from Marvel comics each year. They run a month long extravaganza of monster comics to fill the need to be scared.

Some of the monsters are not so original like giant apes but the story line is nothing like King Kong. Each year there is usually a new Swamp Monster that crawls out of the bayou to reign terror on the helpless country side. I love the imagination of these story tellers. Somehow they keep coming up with new and more different ways for monsters to wreak their havoc on unsuspecting victims.

Monster comics have come a long way since the days of Frankenstein and Wolfman. Today's creators incorporate what the world is like today, that can send an old tale into a new spin. Radioactive contamination use to be a rare subject, but today it spawns all sorts of creatures with all new terror.

Don't get me wrong, the new adventures of Wolfman still excite me but the graphics of some of the mutated monsters are just so cool it is unbelievable.

It's almost that time of year for a whole new set of monster comics to hit the stands. Look out for them before they get you.

How the Belief in Halloween Spirits Started Our Halloween Customs

For many, many years, Halloween has been associated with witchcraft and evil. Satan's one night of the year to claim souls for Hell has been the belief of the church and pious individuals. Halloween began as a pagan festival that celebrated nature and its gifts. It was believed that on this one night the boundaries between the living and the dead were compromised and Halloween spirits could walk the earth.

In an effort to appease the Halloween spirits, people would leave offerings of food and drink on their doorsteps. These Halloween customs were thought to protect their harvests for another year. This was also the time for a practice called "souling."

Souling involved food in exchange for prayers. During the celebration, poor people would take to begging for food from neighbours. This food was granted in exchange for prayers by the receivers for the souls of dead family members. As Halloween customs were was passed down, the begging became food left for these poor individuals who would continue to pray for the dead. Eventually, children were sent from house to house to receive food or bits of money for the family.

In some countries, the wearing of Masks and receiving of gifts is still called "souling." Small food items or money are still received by children. Trick or treating is one of the modern, American Halloween customs. The first-ever recorded Halloween celebration in the United States occurred in Anoka, Minnesota, in 1921. That was the start of trick-or-treat, Halloween costume parties, and a series of activities depicting the essence of the celebration.

When it first started, trick or treating was just that. If a homeowner didn't provide treats, the costumed person (one of the most popular Halloween customs is dressing up) would perform some trick. This could be playing a prank on them or egging the house. In some countries, this is a part of the mischief of the Halloween spirits. Any Halloween spirit that didn't receive food was also likely to do something to the person of the house. It was in the year 1970 that the trick-or-treating tradition started to wane because of several rumours that some households were handing out harmful or poisonous treats to children. Today many parents accompany their children while trick-or-treating or organize private Halloween parties.

Now, kids go from house to house, saying this phrase and receiving a ton of sweet treats. People travel from neighbourhood to neighbourhood for sweet fare. Tricks are more a part of the fun of the night than a slight against any one person. If a neighbour is not participating, they turn out their porch light so children will know not to approach. Of course there are those mischief makers that egg houses and cars, but most neighbourhoods celebrate Halloween without incident. Even the adults get involved in Halloween customs with fog machines and costume parties.

In an effort to scare people, tales of the undead have been immortalized in books like Frankenstein and Dracula. Movies brought us Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and the Scream guy. People love to be scared, but so much of the fiction has been confused with fact that Christians have been led to believe that the practice of Halloween is evil for their children.

Basically, children know what we tell them.. There are people who practice earth religions like Wicca and those who profess to be Satanists. They derive their greatest influence and media coverage on this night. Even those groups have been made gorier than they actually are through film and books.

Our children will learn that the practice of dressing up and receiving candy is not evil from the knowledge that we obtain. Spirits are not roaming the streets looking to take over their bodies or mess with their minds. In fact, for little ones, it is essential that we not expose them to the scarier side because they could be traumatized by it and fear the fun side of Halloween.

Christians have nothing to fear from Halloween as long as the truth is told. While there are groups who practice magic (the jury is still out) and contact with the dead, they don't have exclusive rights on Halloween. They practice their crafts all year round and not just this one night of the year.

How to Achieve This Seasons Halloween "Hannah Montana" - "Glamour Goth" Look

Miley Cyrus stars as Hannah Montana, who has from her country girl roots turned "pop idol" and with this has adopted a "pop culture fashion look". To stay in keeping with Hannah's "pop idol" look, we have created a "Glamour Goth" look for this seasons Halloween.

Follow these few simple steps and you will be the envy of all your friends, while out "trick or treating".

Here are a few must do's & haves:

    1. Find a pair of plain black leggings or straight legged black jeans, cut above or below the knee. Wear a black tu tu and decorate with glitter, rhinestones or sequins using a hot glue gun (ask Mum before using). Fabric glue can also be used.

Don't be afraid to add some Halloween bling to your tu tu.

Tip: If using stretch black leggings, don't glue on rhinestones or sequins as they could fall off, due to the fabric stretching. You could Try stitching them on instead.

    2. Decorate a black singlet top by ripping large holes in it and glue sparkles all over. You could also wear a sparkle top underneath to showcase through the black top. Search out your local Opportunity or Thrift store and add a bolero jacket (from the 80s) or perhaps a short cropped black leather jacket.

    3. Accessories - Decorate a 30mm wide black or purple ribbon, attach a rhinestone spider and attach around the neck for a choker.

Fancy wearing fangs to create a more "gothic" look! You can find them at any of the costume hire or party stores in your area. Try wearing the ones that fit over your eye tooth on either side, perhaps glue a diamante on each one for a bit of glamour.

Find a wide studded black belt if possible.

Who would Hannah be without her signatory "Cowboy boots"? Don't forget to adorn them with loads of glitter and studs.

    4. To achieve Hannah's hair do, why not add some black hair pieces through your own straight blonde hair and tease. Perhaps purchase a blonde wig, add black hair pieces and spray dark glitter over hair.

Tip: Purchasing sequins and rhinestones can be expensive. Be on the lookout for Opportunity or Thrift stores, which stock used 80s clothing. You may find you can re-use many of the jewels and sparkles from these 80s clothes for your new "Glamour Goth" - "Hannah Montana" look.

Girls, remember to create this years "Glamour Goth" Halloween costume, just add loads of glitter, sparkle and rhinestones to black or dark clothing.
