Halloween Masks have come a long way since I was young. Do you remember wearing the plastic Masks with the elastic band that went around your head? Since the eye and mouth holes were so small, my dad always had to cut them bigger just so I could see and breathe! About half way through trick-or-treating it always ended up on top of my head anyway. My point is those plastic Masks that you would find yourself sweating in before you even began trick-or-treating are becoming a thing of the past.
Today you'll find more elaborate full-headed latex Masks that are comfortable and extremely realistic looking. From your favorite cartoon character to today's political leaders you'll find them all. There are masks relating to just about everything from the roman and medieval times, humorous, horror, animals, television and movie characters to today's most famous faces.
You're guaranteed a good time, or a least an interesting one, when you attend a Halloween costume party this year as President George W. Bush, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton or perhaps even Senator Barak Obama, especially now with the Presidential race heating up. Maybe you'd rather be a former President; Richard Nixon, George Washington, Ronald Regan or Bill Clinton. Either way, no matter what your political views are these masks are fun to wear and makes a great conversation piece for you and your friends.
There are also many children's masks on the market today. From the big screen you have the likes of Shrek, Toy Story, Batman, Superman and Spiderman. On the television front you'll find great Halloween masks for Spongebob, Wizard of Oz, The Simpson's and a host of Disney and Nickelodeon characters. There's something for all ages.
If it's horror you're looking for this Halloween, there are plenty of masks for you. The gorier the better! It's amazing how realistic the latex and vinyl masks look complete with rotten teeth and hair made from synthetic fibers. With just about any horror mask you can throw on a black turtleneck and black pants and the "scare factor" look is complete.
You may want to go with your classic horror film characters such as:
- Michael Myers - Halloween
- Jason - Friday the 13th
- Freddy Krueger - Nightmare on Elm Street
- Leatherface - Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Or the tried and true characters such as, Frankenstein, Werewolf, Zombies or the infamous Vampire. There are so many great character masks to choose from it's hard to pick just one. So if you want to bring a truly horrific character to life at your next Halloween costume party, be sure put on a sinister mask that people only see in their nightmares.
