It is cute to dress up kids in Halloween costumes. They look cute while walking around the neighborhood trying to be scary and frightening. Selecting Halloween costumes for children might be a bit difficult to do. Some kids do not want to be dressed in these thick and spooky-looking attires. Many of them would throw a tantrum and there goes your Halloween party. So, the best thing to do in this situation is to think of a character that is well-loved by kids.

One of the first characters that come to mind is Dora the Explorer. If you have a daughter, you could dress her up in a simple shirt and a pair of shorts. Look for a small backpack that looks like what Dora carries on her back all the time. Copy Dora's hair or you could just get a wig that looks similar.

For your sons, you might want to try dressing them up as superheroes. You could buy a Superman, Batman or Spiderman suit in any mall near you. Little boys look up to these men and they want to be like them when they group. They would definitely be excited to know that they are going trick or treating wearing these costumes.

What if your kid wants to go as somebody scary? Well, you could dress them up as Dracula, a clown, or a devil. Shopping malls also have Halloween Masks and supplies which you could use to assemble the whole look. You could get plastic fangs, a colorful and bushy wig, or a fork if your child decides to go as any one of those.

There are still many children characters where you could get costume ideas from. There is a whole load of Disney characters to choose from - Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Cinderella, Snow white, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Lilo and Stitch or Minnie Mouse. Well-loved movie and television icons like Woody or Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story, Spongebob Squarepants, Harry Potter, Barney the Purple Dinosaur, Ben 10, Garfield and Winnie the Pooh can also be part of your choices. Everything usually boils down to which fictional personality your children watches all the time and loves.
